Pia Mancini: Upgrading democracy for the Internet era

Pia Mancini and her colleagues want to upgrade democracy for the Internet age. In this Ted talk she discusses their experience developing an open-source mobile platform to bring citizens inside the legislative process, the challenges they faced and their subsequent decision to start their own political party ‘Patido de la red’ and run candidates who will listen to what citizens have to say.

Just FYI the “Partido de la red” is a cheap washed copy of the Pirate Parties.

They’ve discarded every principle that makes new parties like the Pirates and Podemos good and kept only (sort of) the “participatory democracy”. Lots of marketing and no real content, ideas or proposals.

While other new parties are progresive, left wing or at least wanna change the economy/productive system they claim not to be either while including among their leaders local celens, entrepeneurs and even right wing ex-candidates.

The software that they claim so revolutionary only lets you like/dislike what the politicians have already proposed, doesn’t let you make new proposals or amend them, discuss relevant issues or learn.

Resuming, they are a scam, a step back in the long search for a better society we pirates and many other have been building for the last decade. i hope you see past they marketing and catchy phrases and see what they really are, a conservative marketing driven party for the times being.
