We actually live in a global *corporate* economy.

The implementation of “Free trade” removes community (national) interest and leaves the corporations to do as they please.

That is how his last point makes sense. He says “There is no global community. Where community really exists is at the national and subnational level where people take on mutual responsibilities for each other.”

What free trade policies do is to remove community from the equation altogether and leave the economic playing field to greedy corporate players.
