The New Statesman recently published a trilogy of articles which give an insight into the centrality of the internet in UK politics:
* Battle of the blogsites: reviews the struggle between Labour and Conservatives for dominance of the blogosphere. The conservative bloggers dominate, but Labour is fighting back, with the help of Obama staffers.
* The LibDems pitch in as well here.
* But the more fundamental article is about the fight for a universal broadband policy, here, which refers to an upcoming report by the Labour government, called Digital Britain.
Please note that I monitor UK-specific developments through a specialized delicious tag.
I would love to find volunteers, even one-time contributors, to give our community a rundown of the most important UK resources on open/free, participatory, and commons-oriented initiatives, for our wiki page here.
If you have country specific interests, note that we have a wiki page for about four dozen countries, some of them well developed (India, Nepal, Brazil, Peru), others not as much. The same goes for our over 100 country tags at Delicious. Just add the specific ‘Countryname’ to http://del.icio.us/mbauwens/P2P-Countryname .
