If ‘of all possible banking systems, the one we have is the worst’, then designing a better money system shouldn’t be hard.
The real obstacles we face are implementing a better money system. We should focus our attention on persuading or removing the ruling class. Failing that:
– making our own systems for exchange and value storage, and using them
– building our own governance of those systems, possibly outside existing legal frameworks
– working with other people and tolerating seemingly imperfect outcomes
– Increase reliance on bitcoin, the best global alternative we have.
