Don’t take it personally. A simple peruse of the rise and decline of come and gone societies shows the synopsis above is true. The family groups or individuals you mentioned, was not the point of the article, the intent went well beyond the small group, but how societies evolve, devolve and a simplistic rationale as to why (I say simplistic as dictated by the length of the essay).

A much greater proportion of students will have attained partial success sufficient to make significant but less dramatic contributions.” http://www.projectpolymath.org/renaissance

For some reason the US education system is generating trillions in new debt and defaults subtracting wealth from the economy.

Use the link in my previous post and search the sections on value.

But Bongard is working on it. Read first chapter here: https://blog.p2pfoundation.net/wp-content/uploads/Bongard-The_biological_human_-_chapter_1_translated-Language-corrected-1.pdf

The urge to dominate I believe is innate. Only a few actually want to dominate. To have some semblance of control, yes, but not to actually beat all others into servitude. A big difference is the difference between the psychosocial attitudes of village life and that of city life. Controlling our immediate surroundings, dwellings, family life, education, etc, is much different in the desire to control that for others. Especially when it represents totaltitarinistic or dictatorship philosophies: suppressors and the suppressed, the oppressors and the oppressed. A very good read, thank you for it.

You hardly even know me. Furthermore the assertion in no way supports your larger hypothesis, nor is likely to win supporters.
The wider point about scaling and systems evolving is valid, of course. Would be nice to see Dunbar’s number brought in, because it would seem for most of our evolution, we lived in extended family groups. Thus it could be that that level of organisation is the most effective and meaningful and we would do well to empower them, as opposed to allowing political power always to float to the top of the pyramid.
