He continues his global travels, educating and spreading the message about the power of community currencies. Recently he spoke in Japan and reported on that country’s progress in, exciting, cutting-edge community currency projects, i.e. Japan is exploring more than 40 different types of complimentary community currencies in a series of projects defined as Eco Money Projects. He and others see the need for alternative currencies, as well as the significant value to complementary community currencies. Quietly, the infrastructure is being built that will provide an insulation against the coming global financial crisis. The commercial barter industry, which I have covered for the past 30 years, offers the business community another form of financial insurance.
