Dear Martin, I would be very interested in a fuller status update of the project. If you see any, or are willing to write one up, we would love to publish it.

Michel

I’d encourage anyone who’s interested to take a closer look, download some of the instructional documentation or some of the CAD models, chat to some of the active members on the project and then form their own opinion.

In my opinion (I did a fair chunk of research before pitching in on WikiHouse) then I think the project certainly still has a way to go but offers remarkable potential for building small to medium sized structures that are strong, safe and healthy; affordable, (extremely) versatile and sustainable. In particular it’s a system which offers a remarkable opportunity for many, many more people to become actively involved in planning and delivering their built environment. So, to reiterate, I’d encourage interested parties to do a bit more digging of their own or to quiz the project members on how the system has addressed many of the issues raised above and is actively working on moving forward with the next set of challenges.

All the best…
