Learning from the copyright free fashion industry

“Copyright law’s grip on film, music and software barely touches the fashion industry … and fashion benefits in both innovation and sales, says Johanna Blakley. At TEDxUSC 2010, she talks about what all creative industries can learn from fashion’s free culture.”

a fascinating talk – thank you Michel.

I bet a lot of people don’t have an idea of all the industries that are doing just fine without any IP protection to speak of.

As a matter of fact, a graphic shown in the later parts of the talk really hits the spot. Business volume of industries with IP protection against business volume of industries without it.

I will try to just put that graphic up for others to see here, but of course the better thing is to listen to the whole talk…

Here is the link to the graphic:

    Thank you Michel.
talking about p2p, clothing and fashion, check out our new project Openwear http://openwear.org/ .
At the moment we’ve just open the blog.
The proper open production community will be online in autumn.
But I think that we’re already finding some good insights.
We’re also organizing an archive on the topic http://openwear.org/?p=101 .
In the next days I’ll repost this page.
    Ciao!
