the way I understand Teilhard de Chardin, is that the noosphere already exists, as the cultural sphere of communication created by humanity, and that it will increasingly intermesh us and unify us as a long process of complexification. Is that correct. I thing Arguelles sees it as a unitary consciousness, a kind of world soul?

His concept of a noosphere was not pie-in-the-sky, but a closely reasoned argument that there is spirit / soul in everything … however simple or complex. He saw evolution as “complexification”.
