We are Burningman participants, cultural creatives, graduates of transformational and personal growth courses. Our experiences have moved us out of the perception of scarcity and isolation into a paradigm of gratitude and sufficiency. When a need/desire is voiced by an individual or sub-group…the whole responds…whoever is available at the time… People respond for the sheer joy of it, without looking for reciprocity. We live with the perception that about 250 of our friends have our back. This community is composed of a wide variety of ethnicities, beliefs, gender identification and sexual expression and economic means. We maintain an online email collective as well as producing our own celebrations and supporting new Mom’s and surgery recoveries, etc.

succinct
though i might prefer a non-linguistic representation
an animated network of concepts
which suits my more mathematically-visual orientated mind

some very important self-reinforcing distinctions/transformations:
exchange -> contributions
representation -> participant-power
gift-sharing -> communal share-holding
competition because of relative quality -> intrinsic motivation and absolute quality
(take issue with this last
slightly
since the absolute mb refers to
is still relative to the individual
and in groups this can get rather complicated…
hence the need for triangulation
which i think mb has covered with various recommendation-reputation-evaluation systems)
limited resources -> abundance
and
the experiencial economy’s natural bias away from capitalist-value to non-monetary value

ps
i especially like intrinsic positive filtering of the events

one of the side-effects of being aware of p2p and promoting it here even theoretically
is the invitation for people to invest their values

that is
mb is uplifting 🙂
