This is an update on p2pfoundation statistics for 2008, as compared to 2007. The figures are from Google Analytics.

1. Our Blog

We had 38,104 Visitors in 2008, responsible for 81,216 Pageviews . The growth rate compared to last year is 36.54%. Our home page was viewed was viewed 19,270 times

Where do these people come from?

About half came through external Referring Sites 27,634.00 (48.62%); nearly one third from Search Engines 16,466.00 (28.97%) and nearly one quarter from Direct Traffic 12,690.00 (22.33%)

Regarding people who refer visitors to our sites:

– From our own wiki, and ning community site
– From Google and gmail, and yahoo
– Jeff Vail and Kevin Carson’s blogs
– The bloglines feedreader and Stumbleupon
– Open-mesh.com

The five top countries of origin are:

USA, UK, Canada , Netherlands and Spain , but India is sixth.

About one third of our visitors are ‘returning’. 22% visit more than one page.

2. Concerning our wiki

Please note that these figures are dramatically different from the statistics provided by our wiki itself, which are a magnitude higher. Our wiki statistics proper show 5 million page views in 2 years. I will do a separate report based on our wiki statistics.

We had 120,298 Visitors, responsible for 284,231 Pageviews, the latter representing a jump of +43.04% compared to the year before. Our home page was visited 25,000 times.

Where do these visitors come from:

• Search Engines 98,605.00 (68.18%) • Referring Sites 26,353.00 (18.22%) • Direct Traffic 19,666.00 (13.60%)

The top five countries of origin are US, UK, Canada, Greece and India
