For ‘people-centred’ read ‘personalisation’ or ‘mass-customisation’. In the UK there is a real shift happening within government to personalise many services such as adult & social, welfare support, health and so on.

I predict a unified benefits card that bundles earned rewards, entitlements, concessions, discounts and benefits onto the one smart card will emerge within the next few months. Most likely in the greater Manchester region of the uk.

I predict such an incentives scheme will work within a local cooperative framework at it’s ‘front end’ but that it will be linked to a shared back end cooperative buying and collective action platform.

I also predict that it will create a community currency that will be backed by time the effect of which will be to link contribution to entitlement. It will be backed by time because it will only ever be issued into existence for an individuals contribution to their local community, as measured in hours. such a currency would only ever be able to incentivise good outcomes and would thus act in opposite effect to money.

The engine for these local economies is personalisation but the fuel on which it runs is volunteered personal information. The more you volunteer, the more it can be used to reduce human error and make savings which can be redistributed in the form of a dividend in exact proportion to ones contribution.
