One intriguing theme in his work is the way in which he describes the unofficial or anarchistic economies that have either fallen out of the radar of the state (like in his book “Possibilities”, discussing Madagascar), or, even more importantly, invisibly support the official economy and GDP (like the “communism” described in the quoted article).
