Rushkoff already described how the phenomenon, in the tech industry, “destroyed the California economy.” The same process is occurring now in physical manufacturing: the capital outlays required to undertake production are imploding by one or two orders of magnitude, and all that venture capital is finding itself without anything to invest in.
