Not only does this choice pre-suppose a highly-developed skills set on the part of the self-employed, but (as with the home owner/tenant blog) fetishes the liberal (or in the context of the current capitalist hegemony, we could conflate the philossophical term with the economic, and say ‘neo-liberal) figure of the individual, the supreme post-Enlightenment atomic particle bouncing around the CERN accumulator of alienated society, anomic, and without social referent.
