Michel Baumens, Mark Pesce & Ellie Rennie help to put this all into the context of both individual & the culture of social life. I love Michel’s important analysis,but disagree on his colonial view of a primitive human past. Colonialism in order to establish hierarchal command & control societies had to denigrate ‘indigenous’ (Latin ‘self-generating’) societies being invaded in order to delegitimacize their laws & customs. Yes whenever colonial ‘exogenous’ (L ‘other-generated’) invasion by ecological-economic refugees from war-torn Europe etc. drove 1st Nations from their permanent homes, destroyed their libraries, records, accounting & rewrote history, only then did a false history record people living insecurely off of marginal mountainous lands. Ethnohistory/anthropology by 1st Nations is the only reliable source now confirmed by ethno-archaeology. All humanity is originally indigenous (not ‘tribal’ a colonial Roman administration region & practice’)
