Ashley is a researcher and activist focusing on systemic interventions that yield equality and sustainability. She consults for LO3 Energy who are piloting a blockchain-based community energy market in Brooklyn. She is also the co-founder of Future Culture, a nonprofit focused on a protocol for sovereign digital identity for a sustainable future. Previously she was the first employee of ConsenSys where she developed standards for community-centric technological development. In addition to blockchain projects she has worked with the Office for Creative Research, a group of multimedia artists exploring the human side of data, and was a founding member of Center for Planetary Culture, a think tank researching economic models. She studied Cultural Anthropology and Visual & Media Studies at Duke University. She is also a student and teacher of yoga for backcare and scoliosis, practices the harp, creatively transforms waste stream materials, community gardens, and is learning Farsi.
