Thus, based on this review, the perspective concerning the Brazil’s digital culture, can reflect complex and multifaced scenarios. Petrobras is the state-owned oil company subject to the controls of the Brazilian government. The president, Luiz Inacio da Silva “Lula” is a left-wing leader. And the Globo Channel is the opposition against Lula. The cultural policies developed by the Minister of Culture of Brazil, Gilberto Gil, have important influences on the Petrobras’ Cultural Program. Gilberto Gil, Hermano Viana are a creative commons enthusiasts, an Overmundo is the CC experience. What have we here? The “creative commons pistolão” ? Hermano Vianna actions coordinated envolve members of different classes in society, from the left to right, from poor to intellectuals. A fundamental question here is to Understand the estatal possible influence on the new media experience with the finance of public-service. Can be a public space independent? or no?
I am a student of degree master of design with financial grant of governe and i live in city São Paulo on a poor region (Itaquera), i am result of social policies, but in this region there are a complex aqui society with multiples opinions, however the power is divided between Drug Gangs and Police. Is this democracy or simple new Hierarchies ?
But, i believe McCann’s work is very interesting interessing to provide another angle of digital media in Brazil for brazilians and non brazilians.
Please excuse my English.
