Yochai Benkler, Faculty Co-Director, Berkman Center for Internet & Society, and Jack N. and Lillian R. Berkman Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies, Harvard Law School, today received the $100,000 Ford Foundation Visionaries Award — one of 12 innovators chosen for their vision, leadership, and pioneering work.

The formal announcement from the Ford Foundation follows, below, with the full group of Visionaries. Check it out, and find out more about the awards at www.fordfoundation.org/about-us/visionaries-awards/ .

The Berkman Center and its community are proud to be the continuing institutional and collaborative context for Professor Benkler’s rich and illuminating work on human cooperation, commons-based modes of production, and the social organization and regulation of the networked information environment.

It would require many more emails to describe the scope and impact of Professor Benkler’s research and scholarship. (You can always start here cyber.law.harvard.edu/people/ybenkler .) Today, the Berkman Center simply extends a hearty Congratulations! to Yochai and to the other Ford Foundation Visionaries.
