15 OCTOBER – EUROPEAN AND INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION
The spanish indignad@s are inviting to take the squares, differents and together, to build up on the 15 of october a great european and international demonstration. In our continent, like in other areas of the world, in the Mediterranean and also in our country, many are welcoming and relaunching their call, because, in the terrible crisis we are living in, no one can escape by ownself.
It is not affordable the democratic and social distruction imposed to us through the blackmail of the debt, at european and national level, by institutions who are subordinate to the banks, the finance, to the multinational companies, to privileged elites. We need to strengthen our alliances, the ability of the european citizens to struggle and to win a real alternative.
In Italy we have to stop the Governement and the Confindustria, this economic manoeuvre on State budget and its devastating outcomes. Once more, and more and more, it is granting the private unearned incomes and privileges while it is increasing the poverty of the majority of the population.
We have to prevent further privatizations who want to delete the popular will expressed by the referendums (against water privatization), the dismanteling of the Constitution and the decision to set in the Constitution the balance of the State budget. We have to oppose the cancellation of social rights and guarantees, to the precarisation of people’s work and life. We have to reject the aggressions against Union representations and workers’ rights, the elimination of national collective contract and the article 18 of the Workers’ Statute (against dismissals). We have to stop the distruction of the common goods, of the environement and territories, of the social relations, of the culture and education. We have to oppose racism, to stop the wars, the military expenditures and the militarisation.
We don’t want to leave our future in the hands of a political class who enjoies privileges and it is slave of the financial markets. We have to take back our citizenship’s power , a real democracy in which women and men, communities, workers have the right to decide freely about the choices that concern them all. Alternatives do exist, and we have to gain them together: many, differents, unite. It is the only way to win.
Italin network of the WSF, at the end of its first meeting in Rome on the 4th of september, proposes to all the concerned organizations, networks, alliances, groups, individuals , to come together in order to check if it is possible to realise a large unitarian convergence in the european and international day of action on the 15th of october and build up together a “Unitary Committee 15 October”
Consequentely we propose to all and everyone to gather together on the 13th of september.
