I am working off and on with the idea of integrating education, intelligence, and research. I was just thinking today about apprenticeships combined with the Internet as the better alternative to the schools we have now. But inspired by the above, now I am adding to my thinking, not just guilds, but ecologies of guilds, and a new class of cross-guild person who is valued for a role in helping guilds integrate to reduce true cost, improve design, etcetera.
