In september this year, I had the opportunity to explain peer production developments to an audience of police officers, and one of the audience members was Frank Smilda, who had a fantastic overview of how the Netherlands had various cases where citizens had put criminal justice case information online, leading to breakthroughs in the investigation. He was determined to convince his own authorities to take the lead in putting cold cases online as well.

This is now done by the Dutch police in Utrecht, through this site.

If you click “Ingezonden Reacties”, and know Dutch, you are immediately struck by the high quality commentary.
