The Dilbert (model for modern knowledge worker) and his boss show that every day. The last thing I would like is to defend these top down command & control structures. However, a number of years ago somebody ( I think it was a lady) argued that C & C hierarchies, instituted by General Napoleon, where THE ONLY WAY large groups of people could perform together. There was simply no way THEN to give everybody an overview and communicate together to inform and explain bidirectional. But…now there IS !! Networks work P2P blindingly fast, as was demonstrated last week by the blind man in China.
