Book of the Day: The Producism Manifesto

The Producism Manifesto. People-Powered Stimulus Packages and Sustainable Local Communities. By Drew Little.

Description

The goal of this book is to succinctly explain fundamental problems in the U.S.’s current economic system, and to propose a solution that is easy to understand through the use of text, image, and video content. A mobile application will also accompany the book, with the same goals described above.

The book will rely on examples and analogies to convey a message that is easily relatable to concepts with which many people are already familiar. Book will be broken down into 2 parts: 1.) Traditional Capitalism/Problem (Scarcity) 2.) Producism Evolution of Capitalism/Solution (Abundance)

Chapters will be organized both chronologically and topically to present first the history of trade and capitalism, and then the progression of events that led to the current manifestation of our consumer-oriented economy. This will describe the social and political problems associated with our economy as it functions now. Then, we will introduce the person, events, and ideas that led to the conception of Producism’s new economical approach.

We will describe the mission, purpose, function, and effects that Producism is designed to implement, and explain the benefits and challenges associated with this new system of living, learning, and earning. Included in the book sections will be a glossary of terms. We will provide details for additional resources for readers to learn more about a particular topic.
