In my opinion we need a system that incentivises conservation aka contribution. Money incentivises taking not giving so what is developing, quite naturally, is a counter-balance to money in the form of community currency that is only issued for people, or organisations, that contribute to community.

Money is only ever lent into existence. It makes people greedy and selfish. A currency that incentivises teaching, giving or learning is likely to be in demand.

Digital community currencies are just around the corner.
